25th Jan 2012 • Silver Fish Match Result, Venue Reports
The recent silver fish only Match at Century Ponds was won by Ian Tucker with 6lb 4oz from peg 26. Both ponds are fishing well for this time of year, with double figure Carp - including a 19lb Common - being caught from most pegs of the Old Pond. The Island Pond is fishing well for smaller Carp and silvers.
The River Chew has been fishing well for Grayling at Compton Dando, with some good Dace and Roach showing further downstream at the Mill Ground. Recent rain has put some flow and colour into the stream.
The annual Christmas Match was contested at Farleigh Wood, with George Clark winning the Match and the George Bingham Shield with 16lb 9oz from peg 9.
The recent Pairs Match at Farleigh was won by Bob Teakle and Mike Taylor, with a combined weight of 24lb 7oz. Bob Teakle won the individual contest with 17lb 0oz from peg 8.
Next up is a Silver Fish Only Match which takes place at Century Old Pond on 21st January. The venue will be switched to the Mill Ground stretch of the River Chew if the Ponds are frozen over.

13th Dec 2011 • Recent Match Results, 2012 Licences On Sale Now
The Mervyn Holmes Rosebowl Match on the Kennet & Avon Canal was won by Nigel Bateman with 7lb 14oz. The recent Club Match at Acorn fishery was won by Phil Seymour with 24lb 10oz.
Keynsham A.A. 2012 Licences and Day Tickets are now on sale at the usual outlets (except Crazy Carp, which is closed at present). Licences are valid from the date of purchase until December 31st 2012. Day Ticket prices have been slightly increased to £3.75 for 2012.
The Christmas Shield Match takes place this coming Saturday (17th Dec) at Farleigh Wood, drawing at 8:45am, fishing 10am-3pm.
18th Nov 2011 • Club Match Result, Century Ponds Working Party
The latest Club Match at Century Ponds was won by Nigel Bateman with 16lb 4oz. Please note that a working party will take place at Century Ponds on Saturday 3rd December. The venue will be open as normal, but anglers should expect some noise as the work progresses.

29th Oct 2011 • Club Match Result, 2012 All-Night Carp Series Dates
The first Match of the new calendar was fished at Farleigh Wood and was won by Ian Tucker with 22lb 8oz. Adam Smith landed an impressive specimen Perch of 3lb 8oz (see picture). Next Match is at Century Island Pond on Saturday 12th November.
The 2012 All-night Carp Series dates have now been added to the Match calendar. The Series will be held over four rounds and will feature away venues for the first time - Shiplate, Duchess Pond and Acorn Lakes, with the final round at Century Old Pond, split over two weekends. Details can be found on the Matches page.
17th Oct 2011 • New 2011-2012 Match Calendar, AGM Presentation Images
The new Match calendar for 2011-2012 has now been published. You can find it on the Matches page (see link below). Details of the 2012 All-Night Carp Series will be added in due course. Images taken by Jon Heys of the 2011 AGM trophy presentation have now been posted in the Galleries section.
At the Annual General Meeting on 26th September, former President Mike Taylor agreed to return to the Committee. Mike takes the place of Ian Tucker, who stood down after nearly a decade of service. The Club wishes to thank Ian for the time and effort he has put in over the years.
The Committee also welcomes new member Iain Spicer. Thanks for offering to help the Club Iain. More news from the AGM to follow shortly.
13th Sep 2011 • All-Night Carp Series Final Round Result
The final round of the 2011 All-Night Carp Series at Century Old Pond was won by Luke Andrews, who landed 9 fish for 83lb 13oz from peg 2. The biggest fish of the Match was a 20lb Mirror caught by Ian Tucker.
The 2011 Series was won by Craig Andrews with a grand total of 38 fish for 318lb 4oz. Well fished Craig.
12th Sep 2011 • River Chew Barbel Showing In Numbers
The River Chew has been producing a steady stream of Barbel, mainly from the Chewton Meadow and Uplands stretches, though the odd fish has been reported further downstream at the Mill Ground. The Club's Barbel stocking program over the last few years would appear to have been a great success, and bodes well for the future of the River Chew in general.
Good numbers of Brown Trout have also been landed throughout the Chew, which has been in great condition all through the summer thanks to the regular rainfall. The Club has plans to introduce a stock of Bream over the coming winter.
31st Aug 2011 • AGM Date Change, River Avon Match Cancelled
The Annual General Meeting date has been brought forward one week to Monday 26th September 2011. All Members are welcome to attend the event, which takes place at Keynsham Cricket Club, 7:30pm prompt.
The Club Match which was due to take place on Saturday 10th September 2011 on the Crane stretch of the River Avon has now been cancelled. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
19th Jul 2011 • Club Match Away Venues, Suburban Flyman Blog
Venues have been confirmed for the two forthcoming away Club Matches. The first is on Saturday 13th August at Farleigh Wood, draw 9am, fishing 10am to 4pm. There is a £3 pegging fee plus £10 pools.
The second away Match takes place on Saturday 27th August at Duchess Pond, draw at 8:30am, fishing 10am to 4pm. There is a £5 peg fee plus £10 pools. The Club Match at Century Island Pond on Saturday 30th July has been moved to a 9am draw, fishing 10am to 4pm.
If anyone is interested in catching game and coarse fish on the fly, we recommend Suburban Flyman's blog. Written by a KAA Member, this highly-informative read gives details of regular visits to the River Chew.
Round 3 of the 2011 All-Night Carp Series was won by Craig Andrews who landed 11 fish from peg 6 for a total of 90lb 11oz. A total of 30 fish were banked during the contest, though double-figure specimens were in short supply. Craig banked the biggest fish at 14lb 7oz.
The recent Club Match at Century Island Pond was won by Mike Taylor with 11lb 13oz from peg 22. Adam Smith missed top spot by just 4 ounces, claiming second place with 11lb 9oz from peg 26.
Results for the final round of the E.M. Palmer Cup will be posted soon. Next Match is this coming Saturday (16th July) on the Crane stretch of the River Avon. Draw takes place at 8:30am in the marina car park.
5th May 2011 • Match Result, New Century Ponds Record
The recent Club Match at Century Island Pond was won by Jamie Seymour with a weight of 3lb 10oz from peg 20.
The official venue record for Century Ponds is now 24lb 9oz, which was caught by Kevin Milkins on 3rd May (see picture, left). Kevin tempted the fish from peg 5 using 8mm halibut pellets.
Century has been fishing very well for Carp, with good numbers of Roach and silvers also showing from both ponds.
Round 1 of the 2011 All-Night Carp Series was won by Craig Andrews who landed 11 fish from peg 12 for a total of 74lb 10oz. A total of 38 fish were banked during the 24-hour Match, with the biggest (two fish) weighing in at 18lb 8oz each.
The recent 'away' Club Match at Rushcombe Lake, Bullocks Farm, was won by Adam Smith with 14lb 15oz of small Carp caught from peg 32 (see picture, left).
The River Chew has been fishing well for all species, with plenty of Trout, Grayling and several good Chub to 4lb showing during the back end of the Coarse season. Good catches have also been reported from both the Old and Island Ponds at Century.
21st Mar 2011 • Match Results, Old Pond Closed On Saturday, New Phone Number
The rescheduled George Bingham Christmas Match took place at Farleigh Wood on 27th February. The winner of the Shield was Nigel Bateman with 8lb 14oz. The Arthur Edwards Memorial Cup was fished for at the Mill Ground on 12th March. Phil Seymour won the Cup with 3lb 6oz.
Century Old Pond will be closed all day this coming Saturday (26th March) for the first round of the 2011 All-Night Carp Series. There will also be an away Match on the same day on the snake lake at Bullocks Farm.
The Keynsham A.A. phone number has recently changed to 07935 494398. The number listed on the 2011 Licences is no longer valid.

A match has been arranged for Saturday 26th March at Bullocks Farm on Rushcombe snake lake. The draw takes place at 8:45am, fishing 10am to 3:30pm. Peg fees are £6 and pools £10.
The forthcoming Match on the Kennet & Avon Canal will now take place on Saturday 9th April at Digger Smith's Yard. The Match draws at 8:45am, fishing from 10am to 3:30pm. Peg fees are £6 and pools £10.
The Arthur Edwards Memorial Cup Match takes place on Saturday 12th March, on the Mill Ground stretch of the River Chew. Draw 9am, fish 10am to 3:30pm, pools £10.
1st Mar 2011 • Century Ponds Re-opens, New Member Plus Guest Day Tickets
Century Ponds is now open again to all Members after the annual February maintenance shut down. Last years barley straw has been removed, a number of platforms have been repaired
and some of the reeds have been cut back or removed. At this moment in time both ponds are brim full.
The Club have now introduced a new 'Member Plus One Guest' Day Ticket for Century Ponds, which allows a Club Member to fish Century Ponds with a non-Member guest. One £9.50 'Plus One' Day Ticket is required for both anglers. This is £3.50 for the Member and £6.00 for the Guest, bought as one ticket.
The 'Plus One' Tickets are now on sale at Avon Aquatics, Bill Pugh Pets & Fishing and Keynsham Angling Centre.
27th Feb 2011 • River Chew Receives Another Stock Of Barbel
In late February the River Chew received another stock of Barbel, the third such stock in as many years. With the original stock fish now gaining weight, it is hoped that the species will become permanently established in the River Chew.
The fish were introduced into the Uplands and Chewton Meadow stretches of the fishery. The fish were supplied by Hampshire Carp Hatcheries, Twyford, Hampshire.
The new date for the Christmas Match is Sunday 27th February 2011. The Match will take place at Farleigh Wood, drawing at 9am, fishing from 10am to 3:30pm. Peg fees are £6.00 and pools £10.00.
The Match was orginally scheduled for December 2010, but was cancelled due to the freezing conditions.
8th Feb 2011 • All-Night Carp Series Now Full, Century Ponds Closed Until March
All places for the 2011 All-Night Carp Series at Century Old Pond have now been filled. The Series will commence on Saturday 26th March 2011. Century Ponds is currently closed for maintenance work until 1st March.
Century Ponds is closed to Members on alternate Sundays until 1pm for clay shooting.

Several of the Association's waters are near overhead power lines carrying up to 132,000 volts. These lines are within reach of rods and poles. Members must maintain a safe fishing distance and must NOT carry assembled rods or poles under these power lines. Always look up.
