Century Island Pond proved to be very difficult for this years Christmas Match. A total of 8 anglers entered the contest, with 3 solitary Perch making up the total catch. Keith Pope took the honours from peg 24 on account of his fish being longer than the other two!

1st - Tom Coulson - 5lb 9oz
2nd - Adam Denham - 2lb 3oz
3rd - George Clark - 2lb 2oz
A handful of anglers braved the strong winds and squally showers on an Island Pond that was better suited to wind surfing. The winner was Tom Coulson with a single pole-caught Mirror Carp of 5lb 9oz from peg 20.
Just grabbing the runner-up prize was Adam Denham with a 2lb 3oz catch of Roach and Gudgeon taken on the pole from peg 17, beating fellow Committee Member George Clark by a solitary ounce. George took 2 skimmers from peg 26 on the feeder for 2lb 2oz.

The recent drop in water temperatures meant the fishing was hard going at Century Ponds in the latest KAA Match. The winner was George Clark who took a 3lb 2oz Carp and silver fish for a toal weight of 4lb 8oz.
George's son Craig came in second with a single 2lb 15oz Carp, whilst third place was tied between Paul Jolliffe and Adam Denham, both with 1lb 4oz. The Club is considering hosting a Match on the Old Pond in the new year.
22nd Aug 2004 • Club Match - River Chew, Mill Ground - 10am To 3pm
1st - Paul Jolliffe - 2lb 11oz
2nd - Adam Denham - 1lb 10.5oz
3rd - Jason Allen - 1lb 10oz
Paul Jolliffe relinquished his post as temporary Match Secretary to take the honours in the Club's first River Chew Match in years. A slow-flowing Mill Ground saw most competitors catch fish, with Trout and Grayling counting in this informal contest.
Paul's winning weight consisted of 2 Trout and a mix of Roach, Gudgeon and Minnows, taken on stick-fished maggot. Adam Denham pipped second spot with a 1lb 10.5oz Roach/Dace/Gudgeon haul, while Jason Allen came in third with a similar 1lb 10oz mixed bag. Paul is the inaugral winner of the unofficial King Midas Cup - a true King Of The Chew! Thanks to all who attended.

2nd - Chris Black - 7lb 13oz - peg 26
3rd - Jason Allen - 2lb 13oz - peg 16
Adam Denham took the honours with an impressive bag of Skimmers and a Carp from peg 14, for a combined weight of 17lb. Second was Chris Black on peg 26 with 7lb 13oz mixed net including a 4lb 6oz Carp which landed him the biggest fish prize, kindly supplied by Bristol Bait Supplies.
Third place went to Jason Allen with a 2lb 13oz bag of Tench, Crucians, Perch and a Skimmer from peg 16. Thanks to Paul Jolliffe for refereeing the Match.

Junior Member Craig Clark took the honours in the first of the Club's relaunched Matches with three Carp to 5lb 8oz, three 12oz Skimmers and various silver fish for a 17lb 10oz bag. Mike Taylor came second with an 8lb 10oz catch of Skimmers, Roach, Eels and a Carp.
New Committee Member Adam Denham came in third with 7lb 4oz which included a last-gasp 5lb 14oz Mirror to take the biggest fish prize, sponsored by Bristol Bait Supplies. Many thanks to Paul Jolliffe and George Clark for assisting with the Match, and to Roy Garland of the Evening Post for the report.
Century Ponds is closed to Members on alternate Sundays until 1pm for clay shooting.

Several of the Association's waters are near overhead power lines carrying up to 132,000 volts. These lines are within reach of rods and poles. Members must maintain a safe fishing distance and must NOT carry assembled rods or poles under these power lines. Always look up.

The Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday 8th October 2012 at Keynsham Cricket Club, 7:30pm prompt. All Members are eligible to attend.
